Any body tried using silicon or glue or something to prevent small cracks from spreading?

I think silicon would get gummy or slimey in the heat!?

I think that we need to set up a group buy to get our dash's covered in leather. I know 928leather.com does it but it seems to me that it would be about $1000ish for both the top and bottom to be done. It looks like they do great work but it is a lot of money to me for that. Any input??

I have a few tiny cracks that I've noticed are getting larger and larger. Has nobody tried using some sort of adhesive to hold it together?

The PO of my car fixed one small crack with some sort of adhesive and it's been good for years since... I have no idea what though...

So there's a half-answer... can it be done? yes, with what? I don't know

Sorry I don't have a better answer...

i heard of places selling dashboard repair kits.

I have seen dash repair trucks at the dealerships!! Might try yellow pages in your area. I'm sure there is a way.

I used some black silicone gasket maker to fill 2 cracks I had. I think it looks ok, better than before. and hopefully it will stop cracking more. The silicone black is more greyish than the actual blach dash, but I'm thinking repainting the entire interior vinyl with some SEM vinyl paint soon. Cheaper than than recovering. Total cost (paint + gasket maker) should be 15$ : )

Permatex, I am in the process of doing it. I got screwed because the 'Ultra Black' turns out to be grey, but I got the correct black now, 81158 IIRC... the 'Ultra Black' is not so much.
