Post Wastegate aftermarket, which one?

Hi all, I am going to buy a wastegate for my 90 951s. I am thinking either a 35mm tial, LR dual port, guru when it comes out or any other suggestions. The car is new to me and I am sorting it out and whilst having extensive suspension work has a basically stock motor (unshimmed) excluding a haltech and two sets of injectors. I may convert it back to stock with guru chips depending on what the wastegate does. Long term aim is no more than 320 - 350rwhp [okay maybe 364 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ]. Thanks in advance for any help

I have the Deltagate wastegate. As opposed to being mounted upside down like the stock one, it is mounted the correct way. I never have problems holding boost all the way to redline.

Honestly, I think as long as you have any of the frequently mentioned wastegates in good condition on your car, you will probably be fine. The TiAL 35mm is rated up to around 350-400 hp, so you should be fine with it (its what I went with), the 46mm probably goes a bit higher, judging from Tony's car... The TiALs will require some fabrication (or buying some adapter plates) to get them on your car. The Lindsey is a direct fit, and lots of folks seem happy with it as well, and I am sure there are a couple of happy Deltagate customers here too.

Regards,

Why go with the Tial 35 mm that is smaller than the stock wastegate? Ok, it´s a Dual port wastegate but still it has a smaller inlet.

I am looking for a new one and there are two wastegates that are interesting for me, The Tial 46 mm and the Lindsey Dual Port wastegate. The only bad thing is that I sold my upgraded stock wastegate so I don´t have a core charge item.

The Tial 46mm will do great :-) especially if You upgrade with a EBC now or later.

I have the LR. Straight bolt on for no hassle. You will need a bit of welding to change to the Tial.

Pannan, contact me about a wastegate core..... I may be able to help!

SFR sells adapter kits to make the Tial 35mm a true bolt on. I purchased the Tial 35mm and adapter kits from him and the quality was the best.

I believe tial offers a 38mm and a 40mm version. Check out these links:

lindsey, tial, they're all good, to me, it came down to: i was ordering a lot of stuff @ lindsey racing, might as well pick one up... but i think mainly, having a new one, and a better (aftermarket) one is the big difference.

Thanks all, it sounds like all are good at one level with the next step up being the 46mm tial. I will have to choose between the two steps. I assume the advantage of the bigger unit is better more accurate venting? (and higher hp limit). Thanks

Glen

for a stock-ish 951 (aka, less than 450-500 hp not a firebreathing track missile) i'd stick w/ the smaller tial, or, for the price, and ease of install, the lindsey one. go lindsey dual-port and grab one of their boost controllers, if you plan on upgrading a bit (turbo, injectors, maf, the usual), if not, buy their "Clubgate."
