Default HELP::: INSTALLED A LR DUALPORT WASTEGATE: NO BOOST

Hey all, I decided it was time to change my wastegate. I was running with the stock one, shimmed.

I'm running with a Vitesse MAF, chips, 83lbs injectors and 3bar fpr.

I installed the dual port wastegate and went for a test drive.

I've tried adjusting the boost controller 8 times, and I can't get more than 9psi of boost?

I don't know what to do, this was a hell of a job to install under there.

Anybody have an idea what it could be

MBC line issues? You trying to run dual port? Make sure there's one line going from the IC pipe to the TOP port of the LR unit, and a second line tee'ed off from that line, with the MBC attached in line, in the proper direction, going to the SIDE port.

Sounds like your vac lines are not correct.

I think you might just have the MBC in the reversed orientation.

If you were to have swapped the top and side ports, then you would have max boost, instead of minimum.

Then I guess I'll try reversing the line on my controller?
I really feel like I followed by the letter this layout:

That's correct. Make sure the arrow on the MBC points toward the wastegate.

I'M BACK.
I swapped the lines on my controller and tried my car. Ok, I had more boost, but couldn't control it.
with my controller at lowest boost, I was getting:
2 nd gear: 15psi (good)
3 rd gear: 20psi (not good)
4 th gear: 25psi (danger!!!!!!!)

so I swapped it like I did at the beginning, and I'm still only getting 9psi, with any setting with my controller.

My pressure is good at idle (-19, -20psi), oil pressure is fine etc....

what is this, a bad wastegate? Its brand new directly from Lindsey

You're sure the line configuration is correct and the orientation of the boost controller is as well? Try running single port. One line from the IC pipe to top port on WG, with the boost controller somewhere in the middle. Basically, remove the T, and replace with the boost controller. Adjust the boost controller so that you can blow through it without restriction (will mean running off wastegate spring pressure - 9psi it sounds like) then slowly adjust boost by increasing restriction. See if that works, then go from there.

I'm 100% sure I did the installation right. I know, reinstalled it today for the second time, didnt do it right the first time. I found that layout above (lr link) last night.

So what your saying is to try the wastegate without connecting the side valve.
Using the old setup (single port) on my new dual port without using the side valve?
I guess I could try it, but even if it works, what's next? Putting everything back together and back to 9psi?

another thing I forgot to mention......

Lindsey didnt send in the box both valves. So I had to find some, and it was really difficult. they had to fit on the wastegate, and fit on my big blue vacuum lines. The hole in the middle of my new valves are pretty big.

Also straight, but I've let some loose on both lines, I'm 100% sure they dont bend.

Could my valves create the problem (hole in the middle too big?)

I tried. Even with or without restriction, I'm still running at 25psi and up.
I swapped the lines on the controller just to make sure the direction was good, same thing, I can't control anything.
Theres only 2 things that can be bad:
1. My controller (funny that it worked fine because installing the LR Wastegate)
2. My new Lr Wastegate

All I know is that I need to stop these tests before I blow my head gasket again

Unless there's a hole in your vacuum line, a straight line from the IC pipe to the wastegate (single port), with the MBC set on a "full open" mode, should be regulated to wastegate spring. Double check that the extra large nipple fittings you bought didn't cause the hose to tear.
