Well I couldn't wait and already purchased and installed my larger injectors and guru chips. Anyone want to buy a set of Autothority Stage 2 chips for a 1989 ECU?

I sure have a lot to learn here, but why are the Guru chips so much better?
Please see other evidences of my ignorance at my first string.

I run the weltmeister chips (w/ fuel enrichment) in my 89 S. They work great, can definately feel the pull. Gotta love that third gear.

The Guru Racing website has all the tech info about their chip kit (or you can search these boards). I removed a set of AutoThority Stage II for these chips. They exceeded my expectations in their performance and smooth power delivery. They really wake up the car and are a steal at full price. HTH.

I have a set of Weltmeister stage 2 chips that I would sell affordably. They were dynoed for a benchmark comparison just prior to when my Guru Stage II was installed. The Weltmeister chips produced 225 rwHP (258 HP at the crank) and 252 fpTQ in my '86 w/117K miles.

when you buy the map kit from danno dont you send in your old chips and they remap them? why is that not being done? isnt that what most tuners do, you upgrade your turbo they then send you new chips and you send you old one back to them when you take your old ones out. Why is danno not requesting the old chips as a core? So does this mean if i get the map kit i, get new chips and i could sell my 599.00 autothority stage2 k27 mapped chips on say ebay, to help me cover the cost of the map kit? Just not sure why he isnt remapping our chip and saving his company chip purchases? wouldnt that help lower the map kit cost too if they got our old chips as a core once we installed the map kit chips...Please fill me in

tecart,

Danno's Guru kits include brand new chips, and he's really good about updating the chips as well. You keep whatever old chips you were running previously to installing the Guru kit.

With Tech stock prices as they are who cares except one of my sons college funds....seriously, I think it has to do with the burner they have and voltage, not sure. But it does save a step as the old chips(APE, WELT etc) would have to be erased then burned. Now if he sends you an updated version of his GURU chips, he does request the old GURU back.
