ABS standard on all 951?
where they, I have an 87 and i dont(or al least its not working)no ABS light shows up on the dash.
So either it went bad and the light went on then burned out but i doubt it beacuse the main caution light in the center works.
Someone turned it off on purpose.
It never had it, and all this I have heard that 951s had standard ABS is &^%*.

ABS became standard in 88 but was an option in 87, as were airbags for the passenger. Drivers was standard. With the ABS option, hence the change in the 87 offset.

Like Ski said earlier in the thread. 86 951's did not have ABS. The offset on the wheels was changed from 86 to 87 to make room for the new spindle that was needed for the ABS. The saensor and all its the other parts needed. I like the old offset but that is just me.

I too have an 88 951 with no ABS. As far as I know it was an option and most did come with the option thus leading to the thinking that it was a standard feature.

Actually the spindles are the same length. The extra space and offset was due to a wider hub.

Speaking of airbags, I believe the 951 was the first car in the world to come standard with driver and passenger airbags (88?), and optional in (87?).
