Post Banjo Jet vs. WasteGate Shim

Folks,

I just purchased the Lindsey Dual Port Wastegate and wanted to know if a banjo jet would hold boost longer than a wastgate shim or vice versa.

KoKeln has a wastegate shim and I would consider purchasing it - if it has an advantage over the banjo jet.

I also plan on purchasing a Greddy Profec B or HKS EVC - pricing is the main factor here.

Considering my planned mods - which is the best route - banjo jet - wastegate shim - or it makes no difference.

Uh... are you saying to shim the Lindsey wastegate? That's bizarre.

Anyway, with an aftermarket wastegate you HAVE to get an aftermaket boost-controller. There's no way you can safely use it using the stock CV. Also get rid of any other boost-mods you've got in there as well, like a banjo-bolt restrictor jet.

Both the Greddy ProfecB and HKC-Evc are fine controllers, although I like the Apexi AVC-R best. They're all within $100 of each other, so it's a matter of style I guess.

Thanks DANNO....I will BOOK EM

I did not know if the Lindsey Wastegate should be shimmed (duh..I should have asked when I bought it), so I decided to post this msg (no..I did not buy a shim) and then act.

I will check the APEXI (I will purchase the boost controller this weekend) versus the Greddy.

Yes...my banjo jet will be gone...I am not a PORSCHE expert..so I use RENNLIST for info that I can use to make sure that repair techs and aftermkt vendors are HONEST!

Then (in theory at least)....at least I have a clue!

Shims make me laugh. I went to put some in my car and found that the WG was already shimed but the dealer: WASHERS. The car came from a higher altitude and so the compensated by a set of washers in each of the bolts. The best part is that one could probably add or remove the washers without removing the WG.
