Thank you all for the advice. I am glad I didn't try this one myself. This guy does dozens of these each month and it was a challenge for him. It took him about 2 and 1/2 hours from start to finish. Charged me his minimum 2 hours labor like he quoted me and I didn't have to pay any extra for the insert. We made sure the hole works to get a bolt in it through the water pump. With some luck I have a chance to be driving by the end of the week.

Is it deep enough? Looks like its still sticking out a little?

That was the shot before final clean up. With a little grinding, the insert was made flush with the block.
