Default Correct brake bias valve for big reds ?

Hello all -

I have big reds on my 87 and the brake bias is now too far forward. I have done quite a bit of reading -- I didn't find a definitive answer to the question - What is the correct bias for a big red brake setup on the 944 turbo ????
Thanks !

Tom

I think most use a 5/33 valve. I have a new one laying around if you need it.

Track car or street car? I have big blacks and found even the 5/33 too much for the front with stock wheels and tires. 5/33 is perfect now that I run 9" rims with 255 R-compounds on all four corners.

It also depends upon your ultimate grip level and overall weight transfer. As stick goes up, you need less rear bias, as more weight is transferred to the front under braking. If you had infinite grip you could literally have no rear brake, as you could endo the car at threshold and not have the rears doing anything - so to keep them unlocked at that point you'd need no braking... But that's all theory ;-)

For a normal streetcar a 5/33 is pretty good.

If you're running 285's up front on 10" wheels and have a boat ton of grip, it can be a different story ;-)

This is why I have a Tilton adjustable brake proportioning valve in my car...

It's a 95% street car with the occasional DE. I run 225f 255r street (summer) tires. From what I have read the 5/33 looks to be the best choice.

Thanks !
