Post SDS Standalone ???

I'm looking at the EM4-4F. Any likes or dislikes on SDS. It will most likely be an addition for next winter, but I like to lay down plans with plenty of time for details. I've read alot of posts, but most people throw in comments on other systems and whatnot. I DO NOT want to have to buy a laptop, and require more flexability than piggyback. TIA

Have you read rage2's and my post relating to SDS? There's a lot of pertinent info there about the good and the bad.

"I DO NOT want to have to buy a laptop, and require more flexability than piggyback. TIA"

To quote rage2, DING DING DING, we have a winner. I'm not entirely sure, but I think SDS is the only system that fits those particular parameters.

Yep, SDS will do the job fine. My car runs silky smooth after all's dialed in.

Hey Russ, I updated my SDS to the latest firmware (nice living in the same town as them), the Knock display feature is great for tuning and setting up KNOCK SENSE (if it detects knock it shows a K beside timing number in display 2). Also, the manpres retard is great now, because u can see timing advance properly now. Back then you had to set 255 for advance 1 degree, 254 for 2 degree advance, etc. Now it actually shows advance/retard separately in those fields. Just a heads up .

I realize that they don't offer data loging. I think I can work with that, but, has anyone had problems?

Nothing I can think of. Car runs as good as stock when it's off boost, starts easily in -40C to 30C weather, and I'm getting even better fuel economy than stock (when I'm not boosting anyways )
