I have a viper system that alerts my iphone when the alarm goes off. Also has remote start, door lock and unlock, and accessory capability with my iphone. Nice "peace of mind" when away (ie traveling), being that it works anywhere where you get cell phone service.

Also the remote has a 6 tone siren with vibration so the 2 way alerts you when there is a security alert. What good is an alarm that doesn't alert YOU...

I was at Outback Steakhouse with my brother, and his Truck got broken into. The alarm went off, but we couldn't hear it, and the alarm was one that wasn't a two way. He got his dvd player stolen, tv screens, RC airplanes, ect...

Available at best buy, but make sure the installer isn't a dumbass (which is more often the case than not).

Texas_951, is that a monthly fee for the two way? How does the car alert the cell phone, it must be able to access cell data network...?

Its a yearly fee. Right now if you buy 2 years @ 50.00 each you get the 3rd year free. so 3 years for $100. Code alarm has a system that does the same thing.

First year was free, then it's like $2 a month or something. I need to renew mine. I beleive it has to have access to your 3g, 4g, or edge network in order to function.

The 2 way remote will alert you within 1 mile range.

Sorry for the late response - was away - but thats guys for the comebacks - yeah, i forgot to post that I was looking for keyless entry as well, trying to avoid scratching my baby up where possible . . . do either of the options suggested allow for remote trunk release as well?

Thanks

kpsfo, I would have to say yes. All the alarms have brains where you wire them into different circuits. Many have a trunk release, it just tells the motor to actuate just like pressing the button in the car.
