power window trouble

power window trouble
my 86 turbo has been having some trouble with the window not going up. it will go down but not up. i have taken the door panel off and puled the wire off the motor to get the window up. is this a problem with the motor or the switch? anybody else have a problem with there windows?

Its the switch. It uses a DC motor and the direction of rotation is controlled by the voltage polarity. The polarity of the voltage applied to the motor is reversed by the switch.
Go to radio shack and buy some Tuner cleaner. It is the only cleaner that I trust NOT to damage the plastic on the switch and do a good job cleaning the contacts.
