Ride Height Adjustment

Ride Height Adjustment
I have Koni adjustable in the front (adjustable dampening), and Koni's in the back as well. I don't know much about suspension, or about the setup on my 951, but the front of the car especially is too low for my taste. The front tires just barely tuck under the fenders and its not the look I want to go with.
I was wondering if there is any easy & cheap way to raise the car height up by a very small amount? Preferably without changing any major components. I was told you can change or add a thicker rubber piece somewhere on the mounts and this will raise it about a 1/4inch? I have no idea if that is a valid option. Please share your knowledge on this topic.
Thanks.
P.S - This is a daily driver not a track car, will probably never be tracked.

Not gonna find a lot of fans of adding rubber under suspension components around here!
Raised camber plates maybe?

Can you post pictures of the springs? They might not be stock springs?

Strange... Maybe the PO installed lowering springs... There is really no other way to change the front ride height that I know of.

If you have M030 Konis they are height adjustable from the factory you just need the Koni wrench, if you have the M474 Konis they can be converted to height adjustable for a modest fee ($165 labor + $300 in inserts from Paragon + $250 refundable core). If you're DIY savvy you can do this work yourself with a power drill and hacksaw. More info on that here: http://www.paragon-products.com/prod...conversion.htm

With regards to your Tire Size:
Front Wheels: 225/45 18 has a 25.97" Diameter
Rear Wheels: 255/35 18 has a 25.02" Diameter
So your Front Wheels are just about an inch taller than your Rear Wheels.

It sounds like someone change the springs on your car. I have the same suspension and it sits much higher than you are describing. Strange????
Same front tires with 285/30/18 ventus in rear

Could someone send me a link to the stock shocks/springs? So in terms of shocks for an 87 951 the options were: M030 Konis, or M474 Konis? Where there any other options for suspension? I though some cars had sachs suspension parts as stock? Could someone clear this up for me. The reason I ask is because if I ever need to change my shocks or springs there are a ton of options out there and the price variance is huge. For a track car of course there are some expensive options, but for a DD are the lower priced options any good?
Grushy, do your rears scrape at all? When I bought the car it had 265/35 in the rear and they would scrape on had acceleration, but when I got the 255/35 and an alignment they stopped scraping in the rear.

Well pelican parts for one or Paragon but you really need to post pictures of your setup . You could have anything under the car and really not have a clue of what you need or what your buying.

No rubbing issues at all on my 87. However, my first 86 when I bought it had rubbing issues. It had Koni yellows M474 also. All it took to fix that was an alignment at MCL Porsche in Vancouver.
My 87 has no rubbing issues at all with 285's. It was even really low in the back and no problems. It's apart again right now and I am changing the ride height to raise it back up. I forgot to measure the ride height when I took the torsion bars out during the build. I was guessing putting it back together and found it was too low for my liking. Even as low as it was it still was not rubbing.
How thick are your front wheel spacers?
Oh and the option was M474. The M030 was the turbo S
good luck,
Jason

OK so you do know they are Koni's and if the ride height is adjustable MO30 non adjustable M474, unless the PO changed things! So is the issue about the looks or is there a performance problem?

So, what's the difference between M030 konis and M474 konis?
Either I'm confused, or the way things are posted is confusing.
The way I understand it is: the M030 refers to the height adjustable springs (also a bit stiffer) vs the non-adjustable M474 springs (also slightly softer). Konis refers to the shocks which I don't think is even the issue here. What I don't know is if the M474 setup even came with Konis and if so were they the same as you would get with the M030?
