Default Rod Bolts

Do you guys usually replace these? ARP kits seem to be pretty cheap but I want to know if it's really worth it as I hear it's quite a lot of trouble (you have to take the rods to a machine shop or something as well?) I hope for this 2.5 to be making around 350 at the wheels and not revving super high. Mainly street, occasional DE.

Mine is making around that all stock bottom end. I don't think it's worth the trouble just to change out the rod bolts and yes I'm pretty sure the rods would have to be reworked if you break the rod bolts out.

Leave the Porsche parts for that power level.

I have built a couple high-power 951's...and I like the Porsche metal.

So I take it there is no issue with stretching? Guess I'll be reusing these things then.. Thanks

I used ARP rod bolts just because the Porsche ones had been used already. They fit stock rods and are well made.

I would have the Porsche rods checked for cracks by a pro. Had 351\348, DE for 4 years, 4 to 6 events a year. #4 rod broke on me in 4th gear about 105mph.

Car was flawless up to that point, just normal maintenance for a track car. New engine has Wossner rods in it with ARP hardware. Dyno was 348/338 on a 5 hour motor.
