Post Rear Wheel bearing replacement

Since my rear wheel bearings are making a hell lot of noise, I figure they are basically shot. Is replacing them a big job? What is needed to do the job right? I hear that I need to use a press in order to get them out. Where can I get a set for a good price? Thanks guys.

I am doing mine Tuesday, and I will do a write up with pics.

I have been told a puller/plate assembly is easy, and also using 2 propane torches and a drift makes things easy.

If I can get the plates, I am going that route, if not, torches will have to do.

Check back Wednesday afternoon.

I ordered the SIR Tool bearing puller from Pelican ($153.00), and its definitely the way to go.

Thanks guys, Perry, I'm looking forward to those instructions. Just one more thing, where did you guys get the wheels bearings? Any particular brand good?

Thanks again

What kind of noise are the bearings making? I just noticed a squeak in the rear when I am hardly moving in neutral.

I also hear a squeak when I'm in reverse, but I think that's something else. When I drive, I hear a very loud "wub-wub-wub" sound coming from the rear of the car. Plus, when I pull the car to the left, the right rear seems to start with this VERY LOUD whining noise ( whines only when under load) that doesn't go away until I come to a full stop.

Perry, How many came in a box? Did you have to buy them seperately? Thanks guys.
