so there is the bracket connecting from the gas pedal to the throttle cable, but then to the right of that there is the machined shaft that has nothing on it. then there is another hole through the sound deadener that has nothing going through it. this car is totally stock so it must have been something the factory did. anybody have an idea?

oh, didn't think of that. my car doesn't have cruise but maybe this is if it did?

Yes, cruise control. The cruise control system is linked with the pedal, so when the cruise control is working you can feel it move the pedal.

Ive always liked it yes. Since the pedal is in the right spot, you just push it to accelerate more.
