Exclamation Need help finding the right wheels

Hello. I have searched the rennlist board numerous times on the wheels and rims issue and was just wondering if anyone could tell me where i could find a set of wheels for under $1000 that would fit my 86' Porsche 944 turbo that look good on my car.

I have been searching for rims for my car for a while now and have to say the prices are staggering.

I am looking for any sizes, preferally larger rims and wider rims. Also any pics would be great as well.

Thanks

I got my 17" 996 oem twists off of ebay for $550. If you look long enough you can come across some good deals.

ebay is by far your best bet, as ringo951 pointed out. Good deals do show up, but there are als knowledgeable buyers out there. A nice set of 17s shouldn't be over $600-800 shipped to you. A set that needs some work would be much less. Sanding, paint, and a clear coat does wonders for someone's old race set. Maybe an hour or less a wheel? I'd enclose pics, but my 17s are unmounted(17x9x4, ~$550 and they need work, but are straight. ebay over the winter.) Best of luck.

Porscheman101,

There a set of 17" cup for sale with an '86 offset on the Renlist clssifieds for $800. Other than that you just have to keep a close eye on the Rennlist class ads, the Roadfly class ads and ebay.

Try calling Abe Lin. 213-448-1080
He sourced me some hard to find 9" OE Porsche wheels very reasonably.

Just remember that the 86' 951 has an offset of 23mm, most of the wheels you find that are 17" and OE are the later offsets and won't fit without spacers.
If you find a good source let me know too. I'm still saving up for a set of Fiske FM-10's!!

My 993's are aftermarket - heavy, but they look good. Since they're aftermarket for the early offset, no spacers were needed. The wheels w/o tires were about $1K. I got'em at Discount Tire. You have to ask for them as they're not posted on their website. If you're interested, I posted the name and sizes a week or so ago on the 944 forum.

Just got a set of really good looking 96 993 wheels with good rubber attached for $850 and free shipping to boot. Already have the spacers and replaced the wheel studs so they will fit. Shipping costs can be a big concern due to weight and size.

MichelleJD, those wheels look sweet on your car.
