Post HELP!! Antifreeze leak.

When I turn the car off, it dumps antifreeze out of the back on the motor. Is there a hose back there or is this a blow headgasket? Why would it only do it when I turn the car off?

Can you better define that? There are 2 hose connections back there for the head cooling. From the rear of the cylinder head, under the intake to the pipe which runs over the top of your exhaust manifold. I would be pretty amazed if you were pushing antifreeze out the head gasket.

Yes, It is running down the back toward those two hoses. Is it common for those to leak?

I found it. There is a valve back there that is sticking open. I believe that it's for the heater core.

Exactly what I was gonna say, heater hoses and/or heater valve. Just replaced them on my 944 because they dumped coolant everywhere.

Wink

Oops, I always forget about that stock stuff. Since mine is completely stripped there is a lot less to fail. <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

It's only doing it when you shut the car off because you have a leak at the heater control valve, and the heater control valve is normaly open (i.e. with no vacuum). Since it is summer, you have your a/c control turned to the cold position, and that will close the valve when you start/run the car. When you shut the car off, it loses vacuum and the valve opens and dumps a little bit of coolant.
