How much time would it take for an experienced Porsche shop to install this kit? ~$4000 sounds reasonable, but I fear that installation costs will be high.
Will it work on the EURO 951?

Is this setup reliable? (Car sees AutoX and track 4-5 times pr yr)

So, we're going to bundle the GURU-364 kit as a complete package only. It's going to take some more time to arrive at all the calibrations to allow this to be a plug & play system. We're anticipating mid to late December. Stay tuned....

So, if someone buys your stage 2 MAP kit this weekend and then wants the Guru-364 kit when you bring it out next month, would they receive everything for the "kit" price?

But of course! Our entire upgrade path is designed to be modular with minimal need to throw away any previously installed parts. People who've been buying our Chip Upgrade kits get $250 off on the purchase of a MAP Upgrade later because those same chips are used in our MAP kits (MAP-sensor is programmed to emulate a stock AFM exactly).

Most likely we'll be offering a discount to those who've ordered our MAP kits as well. Stage-1 MAP kits will receive the entire GURU-364 kit and they just turn in their old MAP box (because they'll get a box calibrated for the larger turbo).

Similarly, Stage-2 MAP kit purchasers will receive the turbo, injectors and new MAP-box to swap in. Pretty simple, eh?

The 3D programmability and datalogging capabilities of these MAP boxes are quite handy!

Danno,

Thanks for ALL the info, it's really sounding like your kit is what I'm looking for, I just read through this thread again. (some how missed the no dyno tuning needed part the first time)

However I'm still a little unclear on a couple points. I currently have a Bursch test pipe. With your J-pipe does that mean I can still use my Bursch or do I have to up grade the rest of the exhaust to 3 in.? I'm thinking no... based on your comment about Lindsey, however I just wanted to be ceratin.

Also, was your mapping done on a car equipped with a cat or test pipe?

How well does the new kit fit? Are there any modifications (read grinding and bending) needed with the intake, brackets etc.?

And lastly, how much is the rental fee for the Tuning Modual? I'm assuming you don't need a degree in rocket science to use it?

Thanks again!

Question

Frankly I’m a little surprised my original post re: "Programmable ECU" has received so much attention, yet this thread has seemed to die.

To b honest, I am much more interested in a "complete package" as it address SOO many of the concerns of a "pieced together" system.

I suppose that perhaps there are just fewer people in the position to do it all at once... the "right way".

With that said, I had to bring this post back to life, so to speak, mostly because I still REALLY needed to have my previous questions answered.

...Danno??? You still out there?

As always, thanks in advance!

Doc, preparing an email for you. We're still testing and dialing in the calibrations on our kit so it can be installed with zero dyno-tuning required for the end-user. We'd much rather do the work once and replicate the complete kit for people. Rather than having each and every single person go out and duplicate all of our work with their own custom configuration.

I'm going to be at Laguna Seca in mid-Jan. if you want to check out our latest configuration. Perhaps even mid-Dec. with Green Flag if we get things done in time. See ya!

Danno,

Thanks for the update. Actually I too will not be ready to start putting things back together until the spring. Right now I'm simply gathering all the needed parts and info so the rebuild will go quickly.

I'm living up in Tahoe these days so I have to rely on some friends coming up to help me put things back together and since it's a 3 hour drive from them, I'd like to do it in about 2-3 weekends TOPS.

Now's when I get to collect for helping Fletch with his rebuild 2 summers ago.

As for Laguna, as much as I'd like to be there, since I wont be running, it's a bit too far for me to go. (4-5 hour drive these days... and that doesn't include the snow.)

Just keep me posted and when you're ready, I'll likely be ready too. Your systems sounds to be exactly what I'm looking for and at the right price point too. When the time comes, baring any unforseen problems you may encounter, it sounds as if I will be buying your kit.

Cheers.
