If you were on the highway behind him at 50 mph and he floored it, you would have a couple of seconds to finish laughing before you hit it - and you would still HAVE to hit your brakes hard to stop from smashing into him. Really.

Dude, no worries. You could race that pig across an intersection....give him a head start....across the intersection....and still beat his ***...across the intersection. Go ahead, use it. I use it all the time. It's my own little instigator line. Works every time.

I owned a 92 Z 2+2....I loved that car but it was too slow...hence...it was sold + $ for my 951S. They are nice cars but they are slow. They don't launch very well either...they have a non-squat multilink suspension geometry that hurts launching. 0-60 times are around 6.8-7.1 and not much mods are available for the NA so your modded 951 should take it fine. 3000 should be about the same. Be safe.

Oh...be careful around the twinturbo models though...they can be easily modded. Many TT owners have 400 flywheel HP with intake, chips and exhaust...stock turbos. It goes up further with additional mods. In a straight, a stock turbo 951 or 951S would have a hard time keeping up. Better have an upgraded turbo.

Yep, dead start no problem, rolling start a joke.

If you searh in here on rolling start races, slightly modded 951's hang with cars well over 350hp.

Recently, in a 2nd and 3rd gear pull stayed dead even with a Kawasaki Ninja 900, and that is with only 12 psi (cat in and bad wastgegate)

My buddy was with me that has a Vette and a sport bike, and always talks smack about Porsches, was AMAZED afterwards. Then I told him, "yea, and that was not full boost. I am running about 30-40hp down" He has not talked smack much anymore

I agree the twin turbos are no joke. I will stay away rom those till I get the mods I whant.

But my buddies 300z will become lunch to my 951 once I get it running.

I should get my head sometime next week.

Had a modded 300ZXTT (JWT 396, big brakes and semi-developed suspension and R-compounds).
Sucked on track. Way too heavy.
My modded turbo Z couldn't hold up to my friends near-stock (chipped, race pads, R-compounds) TurboS. I would kill myself just to keep up (with pretty much identically skilled drivers).
Swapping cars (driving his TurboS) was a revelation. Sold my Z, bought a TurboS, never looked back.

NINE_FIVE_ONE,

Make sure your camcorder has a good zoom. You're gonna need it b/c the Z will be so far behind by the time you hit 80.

ok, let's talk about a real challenge against a chipped 951. What about the new 350Z? How do you guys think the 951 will do against that? Think it would be a pretty good challenge, but the 350 would most likely win against a chipped 951.

coming back from vegas, saw a 350z so i decided to see up close, i guess the guy saw me coming, let me see it for a bit then all of a sudden the car did a slight squat then it went, we were doing bout 70. i said to my self heck no he didn't just, dropped into 4th and started to catch up, went to 5th when i looked at the odometer 125mph i had to back off. but those cars are fast.
no matter what i still have faith in my car, and all i had was the arc2 chips then, now i have more.

Coming from the long straight from Denver to colorado springs a 350z came flying up on my tail doing about 90mph. It slowed down right next to my 951. Then after a few seconds it went for it. He had a good 15 car lengths on my car before my boost kicked in. I guess i should have downshifted into 4th first. But no matter, when my boost did kick in i was doing about 130 running about 10psi. Then gave it a little more, and was doing 145 when i passed him. Still had about 1800 rpm till redline as well. I hastely slowed down when i saw how fast i was doing. My tires are crap so thats why i was surprised in how fast my car was going. Never again will i push the tires that i have on that fast!

Never the less i still passed him.

Everyone else has already told you how you'll waste him in a quarter-mile, so I won't bother with that. (Although after that, you might want to challenge him to a track race to really kick his ***).
But about the body style. Our body was derived from the 1977 924, which predates the 300. I believe they were datsun 240s or 280s back then.
