Post What boost pressure do stock 951's run?

What bar is it? .65?
Im trying to buy a Tial, but I dont want a 1 bar spring in it as I would like it to be close to the factory setting and then allowing me to run 15+ with the use of a boost controller, so if i ever wanted to I could manually turn the boost down.

.75 is 11.025 psi
I though that was a little high.
I just need to know what a non-S 1986 944 Turbo came from the factory with. I though it was around .65 bar. Im not sure though. I just want to be able to lower the boost back to the factory setting after adding an aftermarket wastegate if I so desire.

TIA

Okay - looked in my trusty manual. 1.75 bar maximum absolute at 3000 rpm. - drops again to 1.52 +/- .03 bar at 5800 rpm.

Which manual is that? I remember reading that passage which distinguishes the differences between a Turbo and TurboS. Both have a maximum boost level of 1.75-bar (~11psi), but the Turbo drops boost at round 5000rpm while the TurboS can hold it longer.

I've read that the Turbo S max boost is 1.85 bar absolute and the base Turbo is 1.75 absolute.

Hmmm, here's what I have from page 21-10 of the Turbo Service Manual:

I guess it's possible to have a Turbo with 1.65 bar of boost and a TurboS with 1.85- bar. Or the other way around with a Turbo getting 1.85 bar and a TurboS with 1.65 bar as well. So the 'stock' boost level could be from 9.4 to 12.3psi.

I love that part in the manual where you hold WOT in second gear at 3,000 rpm while your assistant measures the boost. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" /> It gives a whole new meaning to "brake horse power."

Try to take the reading before your brakes overheat. That's a really good idea!

I have the 35mm Tial WG W/.95(13.77 PSI) spring. When the side port, of the WG, is plumbed directly from the stock banjo bolt my car reads 12.5 PSI. I am running a Hallman MBC in-line to increase boost to 15PSI. The Hallman MBC has a check-ball SO I have to use it in-line. You could use a needle type and tap the top port to adjust boost. Speedforce sells the whole WG kit with the .80 or 1.00 spring.... I like it.
