Post CV Joint Repack

Does anyone know what lubricant is used to repack the CV joints?

I really like the sticky blue stuff. It's usually packaged as "boat-trailer wheel-bearing grease". It is more "bubble-gum" like in stickiness and sticks to parts better than normal grease. So it doesn't get squeezed out of the way as easily and fills voids better. I use a hyperdermic needle attachment to a grease gun to inject about 2-3oz per CV-joint.

Actually, if you have time after you clean out the CV-joints, can you get a photo of the wear patterns? I'm looking for a photo that shows that the wear on the inside CV is on the opposite side of the assembly as the outside CV joint (mirror image). Thanks- danno

Thanks Danno!

I will gladly post a photo of the bearings.

Just bought a tube of Swepco Moly Lube from Performance Products for $12 for a grease gun tube. The stuff is really slick and stains you skin. Have fun!
