Every single-turbo 911 from the 964 line that I have ever seen says turbo 3.6.

Is this an aftermarket item???

FC-RACER,

I actually put the car on the dyno today. I was a bit disappointed. It made 305hp at 14psi of boost. I can't turn up the boost, or I start to run lean. I guess those stock injectors are maxing out, and perhaps it's my fuel pump too. You can hear the car wanting to go, but the fuelling is definitely holding things back. We tried cranking up my fuel pressure regulator to 60psi, but it wasn't enough to cure the lean running condition at the top end. In the new year, I'll definitely be looking into upgrading the fuel system, then another trip to the dyno sounds good.

That C2T looks great. The back rear quarter of that car is a site to behold. Earlier this year, I almost bought a '86 911 turbo. I spontaneously and uncontrollably blurted out "WHOA" when the owner opened the garage door and I saw the back of the car.

I ended up going with a 951. It is all about value. When you weigh car performance, cost, insurance cost, looks, etc, the 951 seems to come up tops.

FC-Racer, do you still race Formula C? If so, where? Westwood club?

I raced a CR125 Trackmagic in 1999 and 2000 in IKF, PSGKA and SKUSA events in the northwest and a Yamaha 100cc pipe kart in 1999 in IKF, PSGKA, Chemainus, etc. Made it up to Abbotsford twice, once for a gold cup and once for a club race.

I haven't raced karts for about two years now. I do intend on going back though when I get more time. I'm at a critical stage in my career where putting in ungodly hours is actually a good thing for my future. Instead of karting, I've been autocrossing a lot and am now the president of VCMC Motorsport Club (http://www.vcmc.ca).

I picked up the 911T today, the one in the pics. So far, it's pretty cool, but requires a lot more effort to drive than the 951S. Everything is so heavy, my hands and legs are tired

Power is ok, but needs more boost

I'll report back when I've driven it more.

I can add a few comments on this one. I've had both, modified both and sold both. I now have a wide body 86 951 which is getting a correct rebuild. Not the abortion the previous shop created.
My C2 turbo was a 94 3.6. Great car, not too bad to handle on the track. The 951 is more forgiving. The mods on the C2 were larger intercooler, lt. wt. clutch, bigger turbo and suspension. At the same dyno the C2T pulled 370 hp on the rear. The 86 951 pulled 265 hp. The 951 weighs 2550 and the C2T was about 3250. At MidOhio the same year and with similar temps the 86 951 turned mid 1:41's(Gutted) and the C2T high 1:42's (AC, sunroof, full supple leather, power seats, CD player etc.). Both cars on Khumos. Can't see wasting the money on Hoosiers at a DE. The C2T was $45K over the price of the 86 951.
So for the track I'd prefer the 86 951.
For Farazan's desire for a fun dual purpose car the C2T is hard to beat. I got a lot of compliments on the C2T.
Farazan, get what you want!

Hi! My first post..

I was just wondering if you considered purchasing a high mileage 968 and rebuilding key components to 968 turbo S specifications.. it seems to me that 70 grands (Canadian I suppose?) is enough to complete such a project. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as you guys are, but it seems to me that an upgraded 968 could be a great racing package considering the well balanced chassis and potent engine. I heard that Powerhaus makes a turbo conversion in excess of 400 hp with 1 bar boost and regular 91 octane fuel..

However the 911T sure is a fabulous car! Congrats!

$5,000 US will buy the turbo conversion for a 3 litre motor.

I actually went down that road. I really did and still do want a 968TS at some point. I love the 4-cylinder line of cars and I really love the styling of the 968TS. The only problem is that the cost you bear is not recoverable at all in a conversion car. The only conversion car I know where you can get back 60-75% of the cost are RUF conversions.

A proper 968TS conversion built up to factory specs will run you about C$45k + C$29k for a decent car. That price does not include the 18" wheels either. Add another $6k for those. So, you're into the car for C$80k and you still have a copycat w/o the ClubSport suspension, etc. I tried and tried to justify it, but it just doesn't make any reasonable monetary sense.

You can cheat and put in a 2.5L turbo engine and save a whack of money, but then you really don't have a 968 Turbo S, you have a 944 Turbo with a 968 body.

When a nice example in Germany comes along, I'm going to grab a real one. There is one in particular I want, it's owned by Thomas Voigt (I believe that's his name). It's a slate gray 968TS in beautiful shape. If he ever decides to sell his car, I'm going to try and buy it.

ps - for the same money as the 968TS conversion, you can have a RUF RCT Evo with 425 RUF-hp!
