Default installed maf - now water temp issue

Just installed an Autothority maf on an '86 951. Car starts, idles and drove fine on a short test however the water temp gauge is not moving up at all and the small red light at the top is on.

bad temp sensor or something to do the the maf install?

Probably dislodged the connector or something while installing the MAF. I'd look there first.

where is it located?
Id it the two wires (one blue and the other brown or white) below and infront of the manifold? They look like they're connected but I need to move a couple of things to really check. They look pretty dirty and oily though.
