Default Innovate MTX wiring ?.

I did a search and it seems some have used the switched feed to the stereo (red wire) this isn't very thick cable and I wonder if it's up to running the stereo, wideband gauge and sensor heater combined ?, so where else is recommended for a switched feed ?.

I found an empty 6 (or mabe 8) plug connector under the steering column.

One of the sockets in that plug was a switched 12 volt.

I used that as the power source for the MTX-L.

Thanks for the reply, what shape was the connector ?, my car is right hand drive so may not be in the same location, also did you go to the engine for earth or use a connection under the dash.

The connector under the steering column looked like this:

___
O O
O O
O O

I tested each of the openings and one was switched 12 volt.

Very near there under the steering wheel I found an unused ground wire (brown) with a female blade connector on the end. That became my ground.

Think I found the connector, less than an inch long ?, any reason not to use the wiring to the cigarette lighter instead ?.

Amazon has cheaper bungs, free shipping if you buy something else to get the order up to $25 I think?

That's the one, not very large at all.

OK looks like I'm good to go then, found a stainless bung and plug on ebay, the bungs supplied by Innovate shroud the sensor to keep the heat down, wonder if the 2 or 3mm of the tip exposed to exhaust gas is enough to get a good reading or should I angle it into the flow slightly ?.
