86 951 problems please help... gauge cluster, headlights, turbo

Please don't take offense to this but after reading your posts and seeing all these pictures of mismatched parts (N/A gauge cluster, late engine harness, trans cooler blocked off?), the thought that keeps popping up in my head is, "What the hell did this poor guy BUY???"
I hope you got a good deal on this thing!

Race Car
4k isn't that bad, but you could have bought mine not to long ago for that. I was on the verge of selling but I just did 2,500 in maintenance since last fall and decided to wait
Hopefully your issues will be easy fixes just requiring a little time.

the problems are slowly working out. just got the tach working by splicing the 4 pin and 8 pin together. however, the colors on the 4 pin were as follows:
4 Pin Connector 1986
1 - White/Green - Fuel Consumption - DME 11
2 - Green/Black - Ignition Pulses - Tacho - DME 21 & KLR 9
3 - Red/White - Boost Gauge - KLR 5
4 - Red/Green
What does the red/green go to? I would expect a ground to be coming from the 4 pin, any thoughts?

i have already spliced the connectors, the tach works great. just down to the speedo as far as the gauge cluster goes. is there any reason why the speedo wouldnt work if it was on jack stands, i wouldnt think so but just want to make sure. i put the car in gear... obviously.

Connect the wires as follows:
White/Green to white/green
Green/black to green/black
Red/white to blue (tach)
Red/green to brown
They changed the colors between the interior harness and the DME harness for some reason. The speedo signal does not come from the DME or the 4 pin connector. With the cobbling of the transmission, first check to see if the sensor is connected to the transmission.

Not sure of the routing layout.
At the connector
pin 1 green/white is switched power from the central electric board
pin 2 blue/red, connects to the gauge cluster
pin 3 ground wire
i would check for voltage and continuity at the connector first. If the wires are good, it is either the gauge or the sensor. I would suspect the sensor first. Happy hunting.
