Speaking of which, (on a much worse level)

I saw a brand spankin new M3 drop top bein drivin my some chick jerkin all over the road. When I drove up I realized she was learning how to drive stick, then I look in the passenger side and to my amazment some nerdy guy trying to give her instructions. I knew what was going on. It was 2 in the morning on a Saturday night. They were out on a date and the girl looked much better than the guy. I don't know about you guys but if that was my M3 I don't care if it's hally barry or a chick from the Golden Girls nobody's learning how to use a clutch in my M. Plus, who the hell learns how to drive a stick in an M3? I know I didn't

I'm like Renn 951, I have a modded 951 and a stock S4. I would say they were about equivalent in terms of acceleration when both are stock down low, anyways. But high speed accel. and handling go to the 944T. My 944T 's about 10-14mph faster in the 1/4 but it has HR MAF4/Stage 2 turbo etc.
The S4 has more feeling of low end torque than a stock 944T. Both are great cars. I am going to at least chip the S4

Never underestimate the power of German sports car engineering to help nerdy guys get hot chicks.

And I have met a few hot chicks worth burning a clutch for.

Hell, I married one...and she has cost me far more than any clutch, but she also puts that Porsche smile on my face.

Adrial: My guess would be 2 cars, 3 Turbo's. The Audi S4 has two K03 turbo's -- one for each cylinder bank on the 2.7L V6. Two small turbo's give less spool-up lag than one big turbo. So, two turbo's on his S4, and one on his 951, equals -- 3 Turbo's!

Ok, I don't have a story, but I've got a VIDEO of a 951 vs. Audi S4 on the racetrack at Sears Point from last weekend! Can't find a way to upload it for y'all to see though....

I'm trying to upload it to the videos section of my 951 RacerX website:

Procedure
[*]go to http://members.rennlist.org[*]click 'Manage your Site'[*]log-in with username & password[*]get file listing of website[*]browse to local file to upload[*]hit 'UPLOAD' button[/list=a]

After waiting for about the exact right amount of time for file to upload, at the very, very end, we get this error:

IE: "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet sitehttp://members.rennlist.org/cgi-bin/manager.cgi. The connection with the server was reset"

Netscape: "A network error occurred while Netscape was sending data. (Network Error: Connection reset by peer) Try connecting again."

huh? Is this a problem with a confirmation script of some sort?

Kinda like what happens when you try to send a photo over 180kb to http://boards.rennlist.com/uploads ?

If someone can point me to a host where I can upload small videos, I'll post my 951 vs. Audi video. Ribs?

Email it to me and I'll host it. I PM'd you my email address. My email server doesn't have size restrictions, so I can take any file. Just ZIP it up first because I do filter out some extentions, can't remember if I filtered out videos =).

Rage2, thanks for the web-hosting space!

Ok folks, I won't go into the debate on 951s vs. Audis since that's already been discussed enough...

Here's a video of me chasing an Audi-S4 at Sears Point a couple of weekends ago:

http://www.virgeweb.com/danno/Porsche951vsAudiS4.avi (in DivX-4 format)

http://www.virgeweb.com/danno/Divx412bundle.exe (DivX codec)

Got a video of a 928-S4 on the way as well, much more fun...

Wow, great clip. Brang back some memories, but couldn't we do without the music in the background? The engine sounds just fine.

adrial,

Sorry for such a late responce, I don't frequent this board enough I guess.

Renn 951 is correct - 2 cars, S4 has 2 turbos, and 951, well, has 1 turbo = 3 Turbos

Hey, 3 Turbo's -- are you on the Audiworld Forum too? If so, what's you sig name there?

I feel pretty fortunate to own both a 951 and an S4; I'm sure you feel the same! I'm heading off to VIR for the Quattro Club track event Sunday morning. Last year I drove the S4 there; this year it will be the 951. Only problem is the current weather forecast sounds like Quattro weather! Oh well, I guess I need to figure out the 951 on a wet track sooner or later, since my intent is to use it as my primary track car.

Yup, I go there more often, I am "silvertip"
Do you vist Audiworld too? - what sig do you use?

I use my 951 as my track car too - I'm having a few mods installed on it - should be done in a month - the usual bigger turbo and maf - should give me between 300hp low boost to 350hp high boost at the flywheel - although they say 320hp to 370hp, but I think you got to deduct for some marketing hype - at least it will have a little more pep
