Post Flywheel sensor?

I got some advice from someone about my car cutting out after hitting high boost. It wants to die and not do anything even when i hit the gas. he told me he had the same problem and it was one (of two) flywheel sensors that had gone bad.

Has anyone heard of this before? Just wanted to check it out with you guys. Thanks

there are 3 magnetic reference bolts on the flywheel and 2 reference sensors mounted on the bell housing for this application. I found out that mine was bad when i did a clutch change.

the sensors itself dont usually go bad but its connectors do.

i dont know if this could be the cause to your "cut-off" problem.

Coolhand,

It sounds that you are hitting the overboost protection which shuts things down for about 30 seconds after overboost detection. Or the KLR could be detecting knock and shutting things down

Be very careful as to why this is happening under high boost, you could damage things very fast.

2 things to help you identify if the KLR is shutting things down: After you hit the shutoff (actually partial), the car runs, but when you apply throttle it hesitates and wants to shutoff. If you wait 30 sec or so without any throttle input, everything gets back to normal. Or if you shut the ignition off then on it'll reset the computer.

I doubt the problem is with the 2 flywheel sensors...

When I shut the car off or don't touch the throttle, the problem is still there. It stays for a few days of normal driving. What the heck is wrong?

This could be bad air-flow meter (AFM) too. Tap into DME line #7 (green/red-stripe) with a digital voltmeter and monitor this line. It should show a steady increase as you accelerate. Watch for what the numbers do when you hit the stumbling. This might be a clue...
