Default Broken AOS

So the top of my AOS is broken pretty badly. What effect is that going to have on my engine? What should I expect from it? TIA

The top of it is broken. It doesn't seem to be leaking from the bottom. pm with a price. I do need a new one for sure.
Other than leaking, what effect will it have? There is a hose to it. Can it cause a vac leak?

The hose is attached to the pipe bunch under the intake, then to the J pipe before the turbo...

No vacuum leak!

AND

WTF!

It'll leave a nice thin layer of oil around that area. not an actual vac leak but an air intake leak. the AFM/MAF will give a slight different reading then the amount of air going into the engine though, since it connects to the J-boot.

It was broken before I touched it. In fact I didn't touch it at all. I touched the hose and saw movement. I think to myself, "Self, that can't be right! How much could this affect my engine performance?" So I asked a question...ya know...on a TECH BOARD....

JACKASS!

SO if the AFM is getting the correct reading, but less air than it reads is going into the intake, than it should create a rich condition, yes? Additionally, if all of the air isn't going into the turbo, then spool time should be increased, yes?
If so, that would explain my lag issues.

Actually opposite, less air going through the AFM meaning less fuel, as air is pulled in from an unmetered source, it creates a lean condition...

That's true when there is vacuum at the intake. When on boost, metered air will escape from any intake leaks and the motor will run richer than intended.

ahh. but it wont be under boost because its pre turbo and post AFM, hence the unmetered air.
