I third that, while I sometimes enjoy the OT stuff more than I should, this kind of foolishness is really pathetic.

If it was a real person asking for help, then there are a few of you who should start by eating a bar of soap to wash that filthy thing out, and then meet me behind the woodshed. You need to be spanked like the little boys you are.

If it wasnt real, and it was Shawn, then who gives a rats ***. Someone should have just recommended a good mechanic in the Boston area, and left it there. Even an offer to help would have been ok. But this 14-year old sexual harrassment stuff is beyond stupid.

I got kind of a laugh out of the computer on fire bit, I could almost picture some of the morons I know, desperatly trying to find the right chat room to ask about fire safety while the house burns down. I thought a lot of you overreacted to the whole thing. Shawn made it worse by trying to hold the bit togethre for too long.

But even if Shawn did start this silly thread, the rest of you who posted crass and hurtful comments are the ones who should be most ashamed.

Oh please, what do you expect?
when you have a woman walk into a place full of guys? Its such a rare occasion. Now maybe if she didnt mention the model part it would have been more civilized.
Just think a girl in a bikini walking into a football game.

But i dont put the blame entirely on the guys on the board? you know why?? Cause its GUYS! on this board, and thats not their fault.
When you attract attention, you should be prepared for all kinds of attention!

Maybe if JohnD had a womens, forum, and there were more effort in getting women to be enthusiasts... it wouldnt be so alien to us

For the past 6 or 7 years, I've worked with an online community of geeks and nerds on IRC chat and on the network I used to be involved with (www.pulltheplug.com).

It's pretty sad when I can say a group of _teenage_ guys with nothing more than a computer for company treat the women that would wander into our network with more respect than I've seen here. This type of behavior is not respectable anywhere and I don't know why anyone would think it should be acceptable here.

If it's a joke, I think thats even more immature. When I used to manage the IRC chat community we had running with pulltheplug.com, I found the best way to solve problems is to ban first and ask questions later. We're lucky to have John D., he's put up with more crap than I would have.

I'm all about having fun and I fully support a community environment where joking around is ok, but some of the "jokes" around here aren't really all that funny.

Oh please.... You are joking – right?

I wasn't aware that being an auto enthusiast was a "guy thing" only, according to your post. Some "Holy ground" of testosterone, in your mind? Do you really take yourself seriously? I sure don't.

Jen - my "significant other" is a Porsche enthusiast - and helps me keep this site going - just for the love of the cars. It sure isn’t for the “benefits” or for those who “pontificate” on these free Forums, such as you. Further, I dare you to make your silly remarks to her about a "womens forum" cause you think Porsche enthusiast’s are a "guy thing" that comes with some "rite of passage". Give it a rest.

Either you are kidding or you are ignorant. Let us all know which.

Sheesh you're pretty, up tight.
So im ignorant? Gee, im the one thats NOT IGNORING, the fact that cars are probably one of the most "guy things" in the world.
ANN YES, I think there should be a Womens, group, Most every sport, hobbie, field, what ever has a womens, group in which the women help each other with out feeling intimidated by the guys, and show that theres just more than 1 or 2 women in a group of thousands of men.

How many women, do we know on these boards?? 1, 2??

You really shoudlnt be so narrow minded.

I would certainly hope Jen would be a bit wiser than you.

Ill be 99% of you guys couldnt name ONE female racer!

SO john, what are you doing to help??

You know most of the poster, calenders with cars have "hot babes, in bikini's" on them, hmmm I wonder why???

Go ahaed and disagree,(id expect no less), Im sure at this point, you never agree with anything ive said or would say even if I did say something inline with your thoughts, I doubt you'd admit it.
Im sure theres lots more to be said, but it would seem futile now.

So let agree to disagree,(or not if you like)

Hey I have an idea, lets have some of the women enthusiasts(if we can find them), give their input

Unbelievable...I just read this thread again and noticed that some of you including John have taken offense to my post. So let me begin by saying that I apologize, but only to 944Princess if she is actually whom she says she is. I can't believe how unbelievably OVER SENSITIVE some of you guys are though.

Let's take the context of my post. First off, all this was after Shaun had posted his stuff about the computer fire. I'm not going to defend him because I certainly understood Ian's and the other gentlemans point of view about of their cars going up in flames. So a lot of us thought it was Shaun having some fun with some gullible idiots. So I thought that was funny. Secondly, there was a post with a pic about a UPS driver...remember that pic...yes the one that everyone liked. Geez. I guess I can't say everyone can I...don't want to offend!

So I saw this thread with presumably Shaun's note that was fooling everyone and I thought I would enter some humor and eye-candy. Well, you guys got your panties all wound up and forgot to get your ***** out of your wives purses. Do we have to get into the Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology that makes MEN-MEN? I mean really guys are some of you just so old, whooped, and crotchety that you forgot that women are beautiful? Oh, yes and I'll say the politically correct thing here and say that I love a womans mind, being, and heart as well-which is actually entirely true, but there's nothing wrong with beauty...that's one part of the package reason that we love our Porsches isn't gentleman?

Come-on for God's sake..I was just having some fun and it was a Friday afternoon on top of that.

I have come to realize that this is a politically correct web board through and through. I guess that I will have to abide by these "RULES" as I like giving help and receiving help. It just seems so damn UN-AMERICAN!!! Kind of sad if you ask me.

Talking

It all boils down to one word!
RESPECT!
Respect for who is asking/giving or taking info.
Repsect for the fact that they want to know.
Although I haven't been real active on this forum I do believe that it has been extremely resourceful for me, and I am quite shocked that people treated Princess944 this way IF they were serious. If you were serious, and you know who you are, then I think you should revaluate yourself!
Done!

Well I checked with John D and he stated:

Anyway - until I have proof otherwise, I need to protect what is at first glance - seems to be a real person.

So, I told John D that I would be the first make an apology if she was the real thing.

944Princess...Please accept my apology. You made a post at a time when other people were making posts for factious events using new user names. I can only hope that you will not be treated so harshly in the future. As several people have stated, it is nice to hear a women is enjoying ownership of a 951.

wow, how did i miss this post?

I think all you little boys should appologize to SHAUN as well.

first off for spelling my name as Shawn instead of SHAUN (all caps) and secondly, for blaming me.

this wasnt me. i have never made a fake alias and or pretended to be someone that i wasnt. not ever on pelican or ever on rennlist.

if im going to be stupid, it will be under my name and be funnier than a girl with a 944.

princess, come back..

SHAUN

You know shaun (lower caps on purpose...) makes me think of that anoying rapper: Eminem... I ask you all why does this board puts up with his immaturity? I would have banned him for good a long time ago... While I do agree that sometimes he might even scrape the gender on trying to be funny, 98% of the time he's only an anoyance!!!

whoa whoa whoa.

I dont even understand why shaun was named, first , any way.

It seems to me that as soon as somebody said "shaun" everybody started kicking it around.

What signal went off that said "shaun" ?

Even if it is a real girl she is rude.
