interesting 928 ADMIN. topic !!!
<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=14&t=002077" target="_blank">why dont we see the same problems, especially with the kit's that locate the sensor right behind the filter ?</a>

OK... This is PURE speculation, (however) since the turbos are known for having a considerable amount of oil in the intake, Porsche may have taken this into consideration and used a different sensor, not to mention the 944T only feeds 4 cylinders instead of 8, so there are differing amounts of air to meter.
You may want to check the part numbers to be certain, but I have a feeling you'll find they are not the same.
I could be entirely wrong though.

Yeah, you pretty much missed the boat!
They are talking about hot wire sensors, whereas all 944's come with flapper style air flow meters.
Now, it is my turn to speculate:
I would say that this likely is a potential problem for MAF equipped 951's. However, the reason that it is not common is because there are relatively few MAF equipped 951's and their length of time with the MAF is usually much less than a factory equipped car.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if half the 951's produced are dead by now.
Besides, I predict that with Danno's link kit, Mafs are a thing of the past!

I am not positive, but my guess would be that the reason most of the 951 cars equippped with MAF systems are not having this problem may be due to the fact that the aftermarket hot wire systems don't have the extreme heat up cycle, for cleaning, that cokes the oil onto the hot wire sensor?
Anybody know for sure about this?
