So I opened the hood today and noticed the temperature switch was totaly destructed. The black electrical contact with the cable was hanging loose and so forwards...
My first question is: Am I talking about the right thing? Itīs the small probe looking thing next to the turbo, in one of the turbo WATER hoses, with an electrical cable going into it?
Next question is: How vital is the part? Can I drive my car safely while waiting for a replacement part? Is there a way to bypass itīs function? I understand it has something to do with the turbo water pump running after shutdown?
And finally: Does somebody know the BOSCH spare part number, since I have to wait for the Porsche part for 1― week?

I've got a new one in my toolbox which I never used. If you need one let me know off line and I'll make you a good deal on it.

Thermostat for the turbo. Turbo water pump should run after shutdown even with thermostat disconnected. Not sure how vital during operation or a quick way to test it. I thought the regular water pump kept coolant flowing over the turbo when ever the car was running. Hopefully someone will chime-in and correct me if I am wrong.

Did some home work here and got a little confused.
Is the temperature switch there for running the water pump for some additional time (after the 25 sec.) if the water temperature gets WERY high?

It will turn on the turbo's water pump based on temp.
