Post Rats, rats ate my ABS

A rat got into the engine compartment and severed the wires from the ABS fender mounted canister to the wheels...both sides!!! Not only severed but he took some for the nest. Now I have to splice some wire.

Are there any caveats I have to be aware of as I am repairing these breaks in the wires??? <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Sorry to hear about the rats .. maybe they want you to try non-abs braking

No big tricks, use the same gauge wire if you need to add some, and don't solder your fingers in there

Disconnecting battery grnd is always a good idea when doing electrical work ... disconnect both to be real safe.

And don't forget to plug the holes in your garage where the rats get in

Don't tape the splices, heat shrink each wire then bundle with a larger peice of heat shrink. Other than that, you should be good to go.

Humm.. have not checked my wire harness in the basement lately. I should do that.

Just joking...

At least they did not get into your interior and start nesting in your upholstery.

How do I keep these critters out? This is the second time they've done it. These are marsh rats...live near the water.
