Post 320 rwhp goals?????????

HI,,,

I ve decided on a garret turbo charger, no i need to know what size would be appropriate. Turbo Tim's stage one really cought my eye because it sits right @ my goal hp level and is pretty cheap. His stage three on the other hand will give me my 320whp goal at lower boost levels...(compensating with an increased boost threshold> )

so my question is ... "would it be better to install a

smaller turbo that spools quick but makes 320 @ 19lbs . or

A larger unit that will make 320 @ 14 lbs?

I am being told that the larger unit with a 3 in. inlet will make full boost @ around 3000rpm.

n/e opinions or personal expireinces would be very much appreciated.

My relatively simplistic view..
Less boost/colder charge = Engine last longer

My 951 doesn't hit full boost till 3500rpm or thereabouts...tip in at 2500. Thats with the stock K26/8 and jetted banjo bolt.

I vote for the lower boost too.

I would go with the bigger turbo as it will also give you the potential for more power in the future with the proper fueling.

Thank you all very much, that was what i was asuming.

adrial, Do you have a MAF? I dont and my 26/6 makes full boost @ 3000. Do you have an aftermarket wastegate or exhaust?

Sorry...missed your questions Luke...
Nope, no MAF, no exhaust no nothing except chips & banjo bolt.
Full boost at 3500rpm...

Keep me posted on the MAF you're getting, if it works well I'll push that up on the list...For $1500 I wasn't about to get a MAF, but for $600...hey why not?
