Selling 2.8L engine bought to install in my race car. It started life with a brand new block, 3.0 crank, Carrillo rods, Mahle pistons, with complete rebuilt ported head. Engine also comes with VR MAF, Stage4 turbo, #83lb injectors VR CD and chips. Engine had approx 20K street miles on it when purchased. It was built by a very well known race shop in Memphis.
Asking $5800 plus shipping.

m73m95: I don't have any hp and tq data as I did not build the engine and have not installed it in the car where I could do the final tune. I am sure someone on here has a pretty good idea what the set up should produce. As a base line my 2.5 with VR set up (MAF,#72,stage3 turbo W/S) ran 362HP to the rear wheels on 16.5 lbs of boost.

Just as a side note I bought this engine from MortyMower who was a lister. May still be, not sure?? Also for anyone interested a buddy had an engine shipped to him so I have a shipping crate available to safely ship the engine.

I can post pictures in the morning when I get back home. It looks like any other engine on the outside. Nothing anything impressive. I will try and look for the paper work from the build.

A 2.8 by the same guy in Memphis, I've seen a dyno w/o VR stuff on it, it did 365.5 at 15psi. The 2.8 start gaining some serious hp and torq with each psi after 15. My partner in the race car, we did a 2.8 equipped with VR stuff, matter of fact it's the red engine bay on VR site - no dyno because the shop closed but at 16 psi, that car is WICKED DAMN fast in full street trim!

My 2.8 951 will FINALLY be on the way starting next week. My motor was built by Pat Williams Racing, same shop that built the engine in this thread? I was going to quote my numbers and list mods for the person that asked about power output, but Ski is familiar with my car and the info he posted in here about regarding a 2.8 liter's power output sounds suspiciously like mine, so he probably IS giving you the numbers off of mine. 360 RWHP is about standard and if both the engine in this thread and mine were built by Pat Williams Racing and they make about the same power, then I see that as a testament that Pat Williams Racing knows how to tune an engine. I'm still at a toss up as to whether or not I pick up this engine as a spare...

Ok found the paper work for the build over the weekend. Work was done at Rennsport Porsche in Metairie LA and at Pat Williams in Memphis TN. I also have all of the receipts from VR for the MAF, turbo, injectors. If you are intersted I can scan and email them to serious buyers.
