dme temp sensor removal

Default dme temp sensor removal

im having some difficulty taking off the connector. its facing down so i cant get to the metal clip ends. is there a trick to taking it off and taking out the sensor?
i dont know exactly what i need to take off to get good access.

try rocking it side to side... you can also pluck one side of the metal clip open to dislodge the little bastard!

i tried rocking it but it didnt wiggle much and i dont want to break it.
the metal clip doesnt want to be plucked....
its amazing how something so simple is giving me problems

You can do like I did and remove the engine first

Don't be scared of it... if you break it, I will send you a replacement (once I receive them).. but I doubt you will break it... the clip is on one side, but the arms wrap around the sides of the connector, they are whats hanging you up, if you pluck the wire out of one side of the connector, the connector will pull right off with little to no force! then just pop the wire back into place!

what do you recommend to use to pluck the wire? i cant seem to fit anything down there. i know for like the injector clips i just used a small flat tip screwdriver.

A long small flat tip screwdriver! I usually use my fingernail!

Bent pick typically works for me.

When I removed mine, the plastic between the sensor and connector was somewhat fused with crud. Rocking it helped loosen the crud's grip. A corner of the sensor housing broke off but not enough to force replacement.
