Russ.. you are thinking like me again. Nice Alan!

I have wondered what kind of traction I am going to have. My old setup would haze second, and it was quickly hitting 280rwhp. On paper, my new setup should net a somewhat laggy 330-350rwhp and equal torque. Fresh motor, K27/8, MAF/ARC, Hardpipes, 55's, ADJ FPR, custom chips, full exhaust, deltagate, MBC @18-20psi. Running 265 RE730's and LSD.

Got any ideas? Just want to know what I am in for... cuz I have no idea what to expect.

In reality, it's TOUGH to churn 245 Hoosiers. They might as well be glued to the road. CVs and clutches cry uncle first.

Alan... I think that noise you hear out back is your Weldon pump.. not the tires spinning!

Perry - your setup is very similar to mine. Except I've got a Garrett T04E-50trim/#8 hybrid. Do you have lsd or not? Like I said above, my setup is very controllable with my lsd and 255-40/17's out back. If the road's damp, I can break traction anytime I want in any gear. If the road's dry, I can break traction on corner exits in 1st to 3rd. In a straight line without using any clutch, I can break traction in 1st and a bit in second.

Yup.. LSD. I wanted this to be very streetable.. but also to rip it up at a DE or AX. Sounds like I made a good choice.

Perry,
The Weldon pump doubles as a jet ski.

If you think spinning is bad on stockers, try picking up a modified 89 with Guru chips, 3 bar, reliaboost, and test pipe and being stuck with the Design 90's teh P/O slapped on for some odd reason...225s in the rear become pretty well useless in 1st and 2nd on boost if it's below 70F

three words:

Quaife
Autotech USA
(www.autotech.com)

may not eliminate your traction problems, but it sure does make it more manageable / fun

Is the diff housing and driveline all the same from the 1987 to the '88+ 951(or 944 S2 for that matter)? I would like to find a wrecked '88+ and snag the LSD from it housing and all if possible and just bolt it up. It would certainly be easier than replacing the internals.
On a side note ... what can I do to increase boost and generally gain power beyond the changes currently made? I get between 12 and 13psi boost now ... and really only have traction problems in 1st with no LSD and 245 z-rated tires. Any guesses on the power my current mods make?
