Post Raced a 996 GT2 tonight...

...and lost... WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO READ ? It was a friend who got it. We accelerated from 2nd, and he pulled 3 car lengths up to 200 klms/h (125 mph). There were also an M3 E36 3.0 (300 bhp)and an M5 3,8 E34 (340 bhp). They both lost from the 951, about 3-4 car lengths up to the same speed. Car flies, and am very happy with mild upgrades. (1991 Euro 951S custom chips Lindsey wastegate, 3.0 bar FPR, MBC at 1.1 bar -16psi) I wonder how much I would gain with MAF or MAP at first and maybe a turbo next. How much faster would I be if I hypothetically was racing against 'myself' with those add ons ?

my car is about 10 sec faster from 100-200 km/h compared to the stock 951
this is about 1 sec slower than a 996 TT and 2,5 sec slower than a GT2.
With more boost and a bigger turbo it should be about the same IF the GT2 is bone stock.
Betetr spend teh money to a bigger Turbo and then to the MAF. A Turbo brings more HP but the MAF is needed in order to control the bigger Turbo and the Turbo lag.

It was a stock clubsport version. Is that lighter than the standard GT2 ?

With a well sized turbo and a well tuned car. The 996TT looks great in the Rear View mirror. I'm yet to come up against a GT2. Hopefully soon!

3 limos' ?

I would think it would be more difficult to shift when your hands are covered in windex* and stuff

BTW,
I also raced an M5 (old one E34) with a Cayenne S ! I was ahead of the BMW up to third gear. He then pulled 1.5-2 cars up to 180 klms/h(110 mph). VIVE LE PORSCHE SUV !!! Amazing performer, and unrivaled handling

You guys are hilarious....
I'm telling you Luke, Windex works wonders... hehe

Special tool,
You see, now you're mixing up things. "Women" is a universal thing ...

What about the Cayenne guys? Should we be afraid of it, especially the S?

I can't wait to see the cayenne turbo driving around. How do you guys think a 951 will perform against that one?
