Part# for anti-squeel backing plates on 951S brakes?
OK, people are staring at me every time I stop. I have the S4/951S front calipers and three sets of pads (stock, pagid orange, and carbon) and they all squeel like a murdered pig. I'm going to the dealer on Monday to get the anti squeel backing plates. Anyone know what that part# is? I can't seem to locate it on the PET.
Thanks in avance!

The anti-squeel devices are different in that the 951...04 design is the heavy steel cylinder-in-piston device and the 951...03 is a lighter spring type device. I only have experience with the "04" type and I can say they work. That said, Porsche updated them for a reason. With either device, it makes it impossible to swap out pads on the track w/ out unbolting the caliper since they adhere to the pads.
Tom Pultz is really the brake expert here and has always answered email questions I've had w/ brakes in the past - should you want the strait scoop on how the "03"s work.
Hope that helps

Both the 04 and 03 designs are 1-piece assemblies... a rectangular plate with two metalic cups attached. The only difference is the size of the cups that fit inside the pistons, and this is why you need to know what design you have. Scraper ring or protection cap just refers to the type of piston seals and outward appearance of the pistons.
Dampers for the stock turbo or S2 calipers, or for the big reds use a separate round damper for each piston. Since I have my brakes all torn apart now, I'll take some pictures and post them soon.
