Post Best pads/rotors for Turbo S

My front brakes are wearing kinda funny. The rotors are a little ridged in places and I don't like it. I may be faced with replacing the pads and/or rotors. To this end, what are the best pads/rotors to go with on a Turbo S? The car is a couple-times-a-week driver and will be used for autocross all season and maybe some mild track stuff. I don't want to go overboard as it's not necessary - Turbo S brakes are already big enough - so much so that they don't really heat up much for autocross. I'd like something that will stand up to the track but be OK for daily driving. Would drilled rotors be a good idea?? I like the look of them (I'm also having the calipers powder-coated red for looks...) but looks aren't anything when it comes time to stop Any suggestions or experiences are much appreciated

Thanks! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

Based on experience, I have found that the Porsche rotors are the best. The dealer demands a hefty price, but I have had good luck with them.

For strictly track use, I prefer the hawk blue. Use the same pad material front and rear. For Auto-X the blue may not be the best, as they need to warm up some before they grab. On the street, I always used the factory pads...

Another option for street light track use will be the Performance Friction from AutoZone, they used to have a lifetime replacement on them... Save you some $$$$. Too bad not very good for heavy track use!

Another vote for HP+, both street and track days. Stop well enough cold, work at Summit Point on hot summer days, and don't squeal too much. Dusty, though.

I've got a set of Zimmerman OEM rotors on my car which have performed quite well.

I vote for Zimmerman OEM rotors as well. I like carbon kevlar pads, in particular the Carbotech Panther/Panter Plus, for street/track, and, since they have a wide temperature range, they'd work well for autocross as well.
For the track, I'd highly recommend the front brake cooling kit from OG Racing.

Stock rotors are fine, and relatively cheap. Not neccesarily dealer items, just the OEM stuff Paragon sells. They are UNDER 100 a side, and easy to swap out. I think they have the PF pads too. For track use, I love the hawk blues, but they EAT rotors. Then again, at that price, they are one of the most affordable heavy duty replacement pieces on our cars. Because of the low price to replace, I don't think cryo or slotting is worth it. I've heard slotted is better than drilling due to cracks, but I agree, they both LOOK very cool!
