Blitz951, are you using any kind of ballast resistors? If so where did you get them and how much were they?

Ballast resistors are about $5 or less each. You need 2 of them. With the Siemens (2.35ohm) you can use 1.35-1.5 ohm (10W) resistors. It's a good idea to mount the resistors on a piece of aluminum to act as a heat sink. Get the Aluminum housed wirewound resistors. I personally never used the resistors and never had a problem. But you decide if you need them on your own.

Stephan,
I am still waiting for my GURU chips so have not run the car and have not considered using the ballast resistors at this point. I am not sure if they are necessary.

I noticed you have a 940 turbo, can you recommend any one for parts on that car?

I ordered 55 lbs injectors from Lindsey on Tuesday, and I was told by Dave Lindsey that there is no need for any ballast.

Blitz, I can hook you up with just about everything you need on the Volvo. Send me a list of parts and I'll supply you with some prices. I ran the Gtech on my Volvo last night best run was 15.91 @ 87.8 mph.

Danno, How do your injectors compare to the ones blitz951 is using.

ringo951, I've used those exact same Siemens injectors on my car when I had my MAF-4 kit a couple years ago. Aside from my DME getting quite hot at the track, they worked just fine (didn't know about V=IR back then).

When I started programming chips later, I realized from the mappings I had to do that injectors are not linear devices. Their flow-ratings are tested at a static-flow setting of 100% duty-cycle @ 3-bar pressure. However, when you're using 3% at idle, 10-50% driving around and 60-90% under WOT, the actual flow doesn't scale linearly with duty-cycle.

The Siemens with the ball-end function similarly to the Bosch injectors at idle. But they had a little less fuel than the Bosch at higher duty-cycles (both inject less than computed theoretical amount at higher duty-cycles). Our Dephi units with 6 holes tended to be a little richer than the computed amount compared to both Siemens or Bosch at idle. But they scaled up more linearly which made the chip-mapping easier. As an end-user, I doubt you'd notice any differences (just remember V=IR).

Will these injectors work with our cars. With 3 bar FPR will that be about 55LB?

You definately need them with the link. 4 ohms ballasts with 2 ohm injectors is what you will need

I'm running the low impedence 55# Siemens in mine along with (2) one ohm resistors. I would imagine those are the same.
