Post caliper corrosion

any recommendations on how to get the bolts holding the steel plates to the caliper out?

Are you talking about the 19mm bolts that hold the caliper on the spindle? Mine were frozen when I replaced my rotors a couple of weeks ago. A big breaker bar and some "liquid wrench" penetrating oil broke them free.

no, I'm refering to the small bolts that hold the stainless steel plates inside the caliper. Your 951 calipers have them, the 944 did not. Its the area of the caliper next to these plates that tends to oxidize making it difficult to get the pads out or put new ones in.
