There is the problem. Driving is a priveledge, not a right, but the courts have determined the automobile to be an extension of the home. (At least here in GA.) Therefore, you can do anything you want, so long as it is within the law. This is where probable cause comes into play when doing a search on a vehicle. The police will let a drug dog sniff around the veh until he gets a scent, then you no longer have the right to privacy. The veh can be searched and disassembled at will.
