In Denver the power loss from altitude is about 20%. With normally aspirated cars you can never make this back. At least with turbos you can turn up the boost or get a bigger turbo. In addition with less effective compression lag is a lot worse. The other aspect is that our cars do not "correct" for the altitude on the boost side Like some of the new cars (993 turbo makes same power from sealevel to 14000')993 turbo, Audi 2.7TT, 1.8T references absolute pressure. Thus a manual boost gauge reading 15psi in Denver is only moving as much air as 12psi at sealevel (15 x .8). More than one racer from the area has gone to lower elevations and not adjusted the boost settings and blown up the car. Ay altitude turbos rule.

Kgosselin,
Your time is a very fast time for an experienced drag racer. I may be wrong, but I don't recall magazines posting quicker times than yours. Sometimes they get ringers, too. Out of curiosity, do you recall the approx. air temp? Were you running street tires and if so, did you do a burnout prior to each run? I read that burnouts hinder street tires. That these tires actually work better before they heat up and that they do not bite well on other rubber. They treat it kinda like ball bearings. I used to do these burnouts with my car pointed 30 degrees from parralell with the track. Get that fish tailing going. Crowd loved it. One of the officials didn't. He was no fun. That was a 69 Boss 429 w/Detroit locker. frickin thing went sideways anyway. Used to drag race my Brothers GT-350, till he found a time slip. "Must have been there from the previous owner". Didn't work.
Puppan,
How much does your Turbocup weigh? How much H/P. That time and speed is right there w/400h/p tt.

86944turbo,
Did your car run 11.9 on the stock wheels at over 130 MPH? I thought I read that some time back, now that is very fast for a street car! Since your on this thread could you tell us if that crank of yours was modified when milledge did your motor? I ask because I have heard that JME doesnt believe in doing much to the crank on our car and if there is any lightening to do it should be the flywheel. Sorry to highjack the thread guys but I never see 86944turbo on the list and I have been wanting to ask him about this for a while.

New boy on the block!!
I just saw a show about the Dodge VRT 4 or something like that. It's Dodge/Chrysler's version of SVT. Looks like the Sub WRX, but 2 wheel drive.
2.4L I4, 16V, DOHC turbo, 220+hp stock. Ran 14.00 a little over 100mph, BONE STOCK!!
hhmmmmm
