Post Removed CV to Wastegate line and...

...instead of my low, crappy boost (~.2 bar) I am boosting fully now. My question is this: does this mean for certain that my CV is bad or can there be another vacuum leak before the CV that is causing this? I only ask because I'd rather go with a GURU chip setup and bypass the CV instead of getting it replaced (I'm assuming u have to take off the manifold to get to it - more $$$), and it would be a bummer to install the chips, etc only to find out my boost problem is back.

If you pulled the WG line, and it didn't just peg the fuel cut/boost cut. You probably need a WG. It should have shot straight to the boost cut. Your WG spring is probably weak, killing boost from bleeding boost. This is my thoughts, don't take it for gospel.

rheuse, I am having the exact same problem. I checked for vacuum leakes, replaced a faulty BOV, and tightened all hoses. I am about to do the same test by removing the hose. I am also planning to get a ReliaBoost from Guru. The intake maifold is not that difficult to remove. It can be done by the home mechanic. From what I heat, taking out the CV and installing the ReliaBoost is not that difficult. Let me know if you find something else out that is wrong so I can check the same. Crazy we're having the exact same problem!! <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

If you have a pressure leak around the CV or an obstruction in the CV, it will increase, not decrease the boost because less pressure gets sent to the WG.

If you are going to use GURU chips with the Reliaboost, then I would forget about the CV, assuming your WG is OK. Just bypass the CV by running a line directly from the Reliaboost to the WG.
