The A-6 trans has even more loss (but I’ve never seen one on a dyno myself to quote a number). I anticipate with the mods you listed and a tuner who really knows his stuff to see about 425 RWHP (with a big cam). Not only do the cars have a very mild rear gear (to avoid the gas guzzler tax) and soft converter, they weigh upwards of 3,800 lbs. General rule of thumb is 10 hp for every 100 lbs. That’s a big bitch. My friends 2010 with a A6, Cam, LT, CAI, bigger stall converter, Tune, 3.73 gears and DRs runs 11.933 @ 115.57 mph and he’s typically one of the fastest of the stock head non-power adder cars. Still quick but I expect a decently modded 951 (320 RWHP) to run with it all day long without breaking a sweat. My 951 would beat up my Z06 pretty bad when it was stock.
yeah that all makes sense...if it was mine I'd loosen the convertor, add a 100 shot and a stiffer rear gear (sticky tires of course).

He claimed 440rwhp...wasn't convinced that was based on fact.

The car has a BIG cam!

Rick, know you are a GM worker and all but for the $ if buying American Iron it would be a new 302. Some things don't like but that engine is world class stuff. Still room to add direct injection and it's only 5.0 now. Room to grow. Should choose to buy a crate it's $6,800. Just me I guess but twin cams with both having variable advance = smooth down low, no lope and scream up top. I get the LS are the most advanced push rod engines ever but I also remember the AMA (motorcycles) back in 60's; Harleys got to run the most advanced flat head ever with 750cc while all those OHV and OHC bikes only got 500cc. And yes, have built small blocks and love them. It's just time to move on....

Its not a party until I get here I figured you would take the Camaro from a roll.. ANY LSX performs well from a dig, that's what they are made for.

You know my history racing against those puny ELASSTHREE's.... Top 3 Corvette owner quotes...

1. Can my passenger video tape and ride in your car to even it up a little?
2. Can you turn down your little black **** and stop brake boosting so I dont look so bad? (You should see how we line up when the boost is set at 20+lbs as opposed to 15lbs)
3. The youtube video makes me look bad, we need to record a run from a dig.

We ended up going from a dig... The Corvette was consistent getting 12.01-12.2 all night, my runs weren't half bad considering I couldn't hook up to save my life even with the 245 MT's, I ran 12.5-12.8 all night.

ya' know another observation...the 951 appears to geared perfect. Third gear in the Camaro felt like an extraordinary pull though the 951 seems ideal in every gear.

I have noticed that too, however with the stock turbocharger fitted it seemed to fall on its face in 4th gear.

These new pony cars, Camaro Mustang and Challenger, are pretty interesting. To me the scary ones are the V6 cars, which are actually fast and under $30K. And everywhere. Yes, the hairdresser versions of these cars are likely faster than a chipped 951, and I am sure there are mods available for those new cars as well. The Mustang particularly seems to go around corners pretty well and is supposed to be decent to drive.

Looks like the aerodynamics of the new Camaro isn't as terrible as one might think. I see a claim of 0.35 for the SS and 0.36 for the V6.

Also impressive, if true, is a trip around the 'ring that matches a 993 GT3 or E36 M3:

If I'm not mistaken I believe my buddy's brother video taped the all the drag races that night when our group cruised down. That night I ran against the C6 LS3 Corvette, a LS2 C6 Corvette, LS6 C5 Z06, LS7 C6 Z06 and a bolt on 1988 951.

I beat the fellow 951, also the C5 Z06 when we ran because he missed second. All of those cars are modified with exception of the C6 Z06 which was stock. Let's just say it was a bad night for the kraut burner.

A 2011 Mustang with the 5.0 can be had for under $30K. Ask me how I know.

And I'm liking that new 5.0 very much. Don't miss that POS 330 I traded for it AT ALL.
