Default OT: Alignment question

This doesn't relate to a 951, but you are the car guys that I've been reaching out to for the last 10 years, so your thoughts on this is appreciated.

I have a 2008 Volvo XC90 that is supposed to eat tires (new set every 15k miles or so). I wanted to see what the factory alignment specs are, and found them to be:

Front toe: -0.16 degrees total for cars up to 2008; cars after 2008 get +0.16 degrees total toe.

Rear toe: +0.30 degrees total toe.

I always thought street cars need negative toe (and camber), so why would Volvo specify positive toe for the XC90?

Thoughts?

Thanks

It has more to do with RWD/FWD/AWD and how the wheels respond while rolling down the road. What looks like scrubbing on the rack may be perfectly parallel while driving. My FWD has + toe.
