Fastest 951 in Australia.
Early days in development but it's an 8v 3L running a Gt3076 .82 at 15psi. He's got just under 500hp to the crank. Speaking to the builder the main focus was to make it as reliable as possible. So it's overengineered in many cases as shown by only running 15psi and a 'small' turbo. Apparently everything has been rebuilt, modified, or custom made. It will be interesting to follow it's development.

George, the more I learn about these cars and racing the more I see that it's not just about pumping out 600whp and doing an 11sec 1/4 mile. As you well know, it's about achieving a certain sustainable performance level that means we can go to the track, race, and go home. As my intention is to do longer periods on the track, this becomes more and more paramount.
This Yellow car has been built to last so I guess if they can keep circulating when others are in the pits then they'll continue to be the fastest. ;-)
Lol, I like that comparison.

was that Dwayne ? I dropped into there workshop when it was strapped to the dyno he was not very keen to descuss the car .. perhaps i got them at a bad time perhaps its just me ..
I concur a 450 hp car that can put in the days will be faster than the "it'l be 600hp" car ..
the yellow car apparently has a fabricated rear end I could realy see it very well .i did notice it had a nice oil cooler and pump rigged up under there.

Yep that's the guy / car Adam. I thought you must know of it. I must have got him at a good time. Duane is a no nonsense guy that certainly calls it as he sees it. Sounds like he's been in the industry a while and certainly had a lot of ideas of what would and wouldn't work.
They're going to Bathurst in Easter so I hope to see them up there.

MAN he has that thing geared specifically to that track. He hits max rpm at the TOP of the straightaway. Right where it should. Crazyness. A pretty high geared 4th and 5th.
Ballsy speed coming into that sweeping right after the main straight.

Not sure if they were running up to the full 500hp in the video either. It seems to have good acceleration at certain points but then seems to run out of legs a little.
While they've now got a 6 speed, they did start with a 5 speed and run into reliability issues. However it looks like he's hitting the top of 5th and could perhaps benefit
from going into 6th (if he had that gearbox installed at the time of the video), so either he's not going into 6th or he's got a short final drive ratio perhaps in a 5 speed.
I'm not sure of the overall weight of the car but would imagine in the 2600-2700lb range. According to the builder he's pulling higher lateral G's than a Cup car that they have the data to.

Yes it is power to weight but he's in the top class so there would be no limit to hp...I'm pretty sure.

That's Doohan corner (at Phillip Island). A beauty of a banked right hander, Friggin awesome! Scares the pants off me though.
