Default Intermittent stumble at idle???

Had the car warming up this morning in the garage and all of a sudden i hear the idle go away. It stumbled and started surging trying to run. I shut the car off and finished getting ready. Started and idled fine. It did this a couple more times that morning (went on a four hour spirited run!).

When I got home I checked vacuum lines (new and all to direct ports). Then I opened the airbox and cleaned the K&N (suprised how dirty it's gotten in only a few thousand miles!) and spayed carb cleaner through the AFM.

It idled for twenty minutes perfect when the air box was open.

Put it back together and went for a drive...IT DID IT AGAIN when i came back and was idling in the driveway.

OBSERVATION: when it stumbled I revved it up and it cleared BUT blew what looked and felt like sooty condensation out the tailpipe...had to clean up the driveway! The fluids all look fine and the temp never fluctuated even when flogging on it.

and idea's?

Hoping to tackle the new A/F meter and WB install tomorrow

Check your TPS, specifically the idle circuit.

No. I mean the Throttle Position Sensor.
Here is how to test it:

Yeah i did the basic "click" test yesterday. I was reading about jumping the idle stabilizer when setting the idle and thought you referred to that.

Thanks!
