Default Garage sale score

On the way back from closing the lake house this weekend, my wife talked me into stopping at a garage sale. I wasn't excited but started poking around because I saw a nice Craftsman tool chest.

Next to the tool chest was a box of parts and in the box...Porsche calipers! I thought they looked like something I could use so I asked the lady how much...her answer was "if you'll carry it away you can have everything in the box".

Now I have them home...and validated what they are - a complete set of 944 Turbo S calipers! They're in rough shape cosmetically but perfect for a rebuild for my race car!!

(Yes...I did stop & buy a lottery ticket on the way home...but my lack was short lived on Sunday.

Great find ! Garage sales can be a gold mine but it takes lots of patience. I recently picked up a virtually new bowflex with all the attachments for $75. I've never run across any 944 turbo parts - that's a 1 in a billion !

Good score. There is a set on the local CL with a $320 asking price.

I'm guessing a divorcee, or soon to be once the poor guy finds out.

That's awesome. My best find was a complete set of NOS 1966 Chrysler 300 hubcaps for $5...sounds good but your calipers are worth more

It's so rare to find anything good...nice find!

This thread should have started "Dear Penthouse Forum, I never thought it would happen to me, but..."

Way to go!

LMAO on the penthouse forum!! I found a black velvet Elvis painting at one! Haggled the pregnant, single, chain smoking mom from 3.00 down to 1.00, and thought I was lucky....
