Wondering the same as the last person. Hoping to skim the head and replace the headgasket this winter, just need to know if machining for O-Rings is really neccessary anymore. 99.9% street use, 15-18PSI, possibly more with E85.

For a street car on that boost, no O-ring necessary IMO. We've ran much more boost without issue. If your popping headgaskets, then look at your tuning, not making a stronger "fuse".

I have been running 23psi of boost on my street car for the last 4 years. Wide fire head gasket with an o-ringed head by Lindsey Racing. No problems.

One last question: stock, widefire, or does it not really matter for a street application?

Personally I would opt for the widefire, price difference is minimal.
Widefire is what I used for my rebuild.
